Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
At Trident Healthcare Institute, we are committed to continuous improvement in delivering quality education and supporting our students' success during and after their studies. One of the ways we measure our performance is through the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) established by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities. These indicators provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of our programs and the career success of our graduates.
Tracking Graduate Success
How many students graduate successfully from healthcare training programs? Do they secure employment, and is it related to their field of study? Are graduates able to repay student loans? Since 2013, Ontario’s private career colleges, including Trident Healthcare Institute, have collaborated with the Ministry and its partners to collect data to answer these important questions.
The data collected is used to calculate KPIs, which help:
- Prospective students make informed choices about their healthcare education;
- Our institution identify strengths and areas for growth;
- Maintain accountability and ensure high standards across all programs.
The KPI Framework
Under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005, the Superintendent of Career Colleges mandates the measurement of five key performance indicators for career colleges:
- Graduation Rate
- Graduate Employment Rate
- Graduate Employment in Field of Study
- Graduate Satisfaction Rate
- Employer Satisfaction Rate
The Graduation Rate is based on verified data submitted by colleges throughout the academic year. The remaining four KPIs are determined through structured surveys administered to graduates and their employers by an independent research firm on behalf of the Ministry.
In addition, the OSAP Loan Default Rate is used as an additional indicator for institutions approved for Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) funding. This measure reflects financial responsibility and the economic viability of the training provided.
Your Feedback Matters
Graduates of Trident Healthcare Institute may be contacted by Forum Research Canada, a third-party research organization contracted by the Ministry, to participate in a Graduate Satisfaction Survey. This survey plays a vital role in shaping our programs and services. We appreciate your feedback and encourage your participation to help us continue raising the standard of healthcare education and training.
